America
Sooz sent this link to the NYTimes
and I concur that it is worth the read.
Freidman is seen as commentator on
various "news and commentary" programs. He usually has information to share that
reveals more than one surface of detail. In this case, he satirizes the
situation in the Muddle East; maybe to a fault, but it still rings true.
There is something in the Ten
Commandments (the version for WASPs like me) that states the sins of the father
may be visited on up to four generations. The challenge here is to abandon
generations of wrong thinking, on both sides. I see no indications such thought is being contemplated. Anywhere.
Meanwhile, according to Bill Mahr,
the Department of Defense is soliciting ideas how to combat [the enemy] in Afghan environs. I am
thinking that heat sensor scans [during winter] will reveal locations in potential combat zones as possible targets. Then, the cave thing may be able to affected through using new deep penetration ordinace above the suspected entrances. Gravity may be a friend through pulling down a mountainside over [their] rat-hole caves. Mining-like operations needed to clear critical locations will further create effective targeting.
