OK, so I didn't see the Yankee's beat the Mariner's to get into the World Series. I was in an Accounting 101 class , bored out of my mind. I read a pitch-by-pitch recap on www.majorleaguebaseball.com and did not see what actually happened. It may or may not have been a managerial error. I was, all in all, again really disappointed in the outcome. Seattle is so much more than "that place way up in the upper left corner" of America. and, yes, it rains a lot; but it never really rains. More like living in a cloud than living underwater. And always grey...even with the sun poking through once in awhile, it never dries out. My home town. At age 17, in 1960, I left to "stand the uniform" of the US Army. Since, I have had occason to return to live a short time. Two weeks there and I am looking forward to somewhere else. I have been living in Reno for longer than I have lived anywhere; going into my tenth year. I am ready to find somewhere else, but Reno is a difficult place to leave. It offers too many things that make this attractive. Like, for instance, it is 12:30am and I have a hankering for chocolate cheeck cake. No problem...a ten minute ride, ten minutes to get it, and ten minutes back. Can you do that where you are?

OK...so much for good intents. I lay it at Lou's door. Shudda pulled that pitcher Tomko before he hadda see the meat of the Yankee's order. Mesa, all in all, pitched alright. It was closing the barn door after the horse had bolted. Lou just didn't let it all hang out as a game like that demands. I am greatly disappointed, but the guy has made needing a shave a lifestyle. I never liked him as a player and now have fodder to dislike his managerial style. Not a winner. But this is baseball; wait until next year. Then...maybe we will get that one more lefty. Always one more lefty. Can't see anybody (even Davy Johnson) that will do Seattle better than Lou. He has had his crosses to bear. He did good getting this far this year. I know other teams will seek his services. I think Seattle will be better off with him managing somewhere else. Finding someone "as good as" will be enough if they are good baseball people. So who is out there? Whether or not ARod is around is a matter of money. He will probably go to more fertile ground. He will leave a big hole but...maybe new blood? But look at all the others whose contracts are up. What is going on up there? Ten of twenty played tonight and they left it on the field. Quiet ride home for some...some only have to get cross-town (like ARod). Wonder if he had his locker cleaned out. I would lay odds as it would be smart to do so. Still, it is a pretty ballpark.Got plenty of exposure to a national audience. The roof is really strange isn't it? And it looks like the new Seahawks park is coming along fine. I don't see where all these folks are gonna park! Or will they bring the monorail out of downtown? About time. Or is that still a pipe dream? So, the Ducks are gonna be in the Rose Bowl, the Seahawks are shitty and what's-his-name Kitna is no Farve, the Ms bit the dust but gave them a good go for their money. And it is the money...always the money. I think Jr going to Cincy is the proof of the pudding...you get what you pay for, but the money is more a symbol than any reality of power. Watch Piazzia. Lotta money. So far..big nothing in the playoffs. But Valentine is in his first World Series. So go figure. I can't because I have more fucking homework than a high school freshman. And I am doing really bad (for me) this semester. No motive but a firgging piece of paper. I may make it. I may not. I am really beginning not to care much either way. I feel my age as I have never felt it before. About all that is left, this next few weeks is the frigging election. The Clown or The Robot. The glad-hand fool or the fessin-up liar. It is absurd and, no doubt, life will go on no matter the outcome. Having seen as much as I have, my attitude has settled into ambivalent disconcern. It really has very little to do with my life. Maybe a change is in the air, maybe not. But... Baseball is over for me this year. Who gives a fuck? Only of 250 million Americans, the 6 million who live in New York City. NBC thinks the Olympics were a ratings failure...wait for the World Series. They did? Oh. You remember the score? Oh, that's OK, doesn't matter anyway.

Much new has happened. I have a hot new PC: P3, 700Mhz, 20Gbt HDD, hot modem, etc., etc., etc. It really stokes. This as result of threat to sue over the piece'o I have used for two years. Water under the bridge. I really like it and the USB utility that it brings. Anybody that thinks the few dollar saving one realizes in a cheap motherboard (like the PC Chips one in my old machine)is worth it has no experience. Spend the money. Get something that you can rely on to do the job. Whatever, I have one that seems to be the cat's meow. Seattle's Mariner ballclub stands at the door of a championship, down two wins. They can do it. As always, it is pitching that will save or lose the day. They have the field defence and offence. I love baseball...the only game that the defence has the ball. One game at a time boys, starting tonight. You can do it. Unfortunately, I will be in class while it all happens. Same goes for Monday Night Football; my school makes their programmers zombies. Night crawlers on knees of muddied or bloodied intellectual frustration. I hate it and will probably quit soon (before I get my degree). With my new machine has come entry into Intel's Web outfitters web site. An interesting and educational site it is. The PentiumIII (P3) processor is a quantum leap. I see many new applications and uses. Now chances to realize its potential is certainly to be compromised by further genius. I still wonder at the still unseen level of saturation that is inevitable. The Nasdaq seems to be finding a more realistic floor; the get-rich-quick stampede subsiding in face of the oil price run-up.The aquiring of money continues to be the false value system that roots the moral decay of this society. Hope dictates continued success dependent on common greed meeting common need...there is no success like success itself. Bringing on the election and its incessant commercial lies. Not telling the whole truth is as deviant as an outright lie. Politicians revel in half-truths and non-sensical statements given as gospel truth. For all their noise, The Media seldom questions the wisdom of a position on an issue. Politicians are well-versed and rehearsed at not answering a direct question with a direct answer. With, maybe, the exception of Al Gore and Joe Leiberman, by design if not ethically. They have had my vote from the get-go; so I am not undecided and, therefore, not object of nonsence attendant to the campaigns. As though my vote in this Republican stronghold has any consequesnce. Finally...within the word where is the word here; also, in the word there is the word here. Will people ever learn?
